href=\"https:\/\/saltoyouth.be\/suvy-tuominen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Suvi Tuominen<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/saltoyouth.be\/ully-enn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00dclly Enn<\/a>, we focused on the fact that while youth work in Europe seemed to suddenly realise that digital youth work existed and was somehow relevant, some countries, such as Estonia and Finland, had already provided rules and regulations, or had otherwise been working on its strategic development for years, and were already discussing how to make it more inclusive.<br \/><br \/>The organisations, led by Suvi and \u00dclly, are due thanks for this: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verke.org\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Verke<\/a> in Finland and <a href=\"https:\/\/entk.ee\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ENTK<\/a> \u2013 the Estonian national youth work centre, now merged with the <a href=\"https:\/\/harno.ee\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Estonian Education and Youth Authority<\/a>.<br \/><br \/>In the podcast we discussed how the two organisations were important in establishing cooperation between the two countries in this field, and how this led to a joint publication, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verke.org\/material\/digitalisation-youth-work\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digitalisation and Youth Work<\/a>, which was published in 2019, with a chapter tackling our topic digitalisation and equality.<br \/><br \/>Our guests outlined the work involved in defining national strategies leading to policies, and the fact that youth work has a great deal of untapped potential which still needs to be developed, as far as smart and digital youth work is concerned.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-da823ae elementor-section-content-middle elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"da823ae\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-extended\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div places across Europe, but these two countries serve as the leading, and probably most consistent, examples of how strategies, policies and practices can be combined to achieve the same goal.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-8e842c4 elementor-section-content-middle elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"8e842c4\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-extended\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-4600152\" data-id=\"4600152\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>They shared some examples of what happened in their countries during the first wave of the Covid pandemic, like youth centres in Estonia being rebuilt online on platforms like Roblox.<br \/><br \/>They agreed on the need to bolster young people\u2019s digital competences, quoting the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/education\/education-in-the-eu\/digital-education-action-plan_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027<\/a>. A peer-to-peer approach would need to be trialled as a way of achieving this goal: it is a classic methodology in youth work, but one which has not been so often applied to the digital dimension of youth work activities to date.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-7d23b7a elementor-section-content-middle elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" speaking, establishing strategies is important but we also need a major shift in youth work culture, since \u201cculture eats strategy for breakfast\u201d.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-8f991cc elementor-section-content-middle elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"8f991cc\" culture change is the mention of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verke.org\/material\/maker-activities-youth-work\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">makers activities in youth work<\/a>, as a way of tackling the digital divide and of meeting the green youth work priority of the new programme.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
